Thanks so much for writing about my book! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Just a couple of comments: 1. Only two of the Original Dixieland Jazz Band members were of Italian heritage (bandleader/trumpet player Nick LaRocca and drummer Tony Sbarbaro). 2. Major Bowes wasn't the one who suggested Sinatra change his name to something "less Italian" -- it was Harry James who made that request and was rebuffed.

I should add that two uncles of a good friend of mine were part of a more recent trad jazz band, the Last Straws. At least one was of Italian ancestry.
