Allen Toussaint - Great American Composer and Much More

Here are some warm and respectful thoughts on Allen Toussaint by David Simon, the producer of HBO Treme, David describes some moments during the production of Treme that reveal some nice moments with Allen Toussaint. I really enjoyed his participation in the series. As David wrote they are, "reflections on a gentle, giving soul and one of the finest composers who ever created American music." Here is a nice video of Jon Cleary at Chicki Wah Wah playing Allen Toussaint's music and talking about him. We have seen Jon at Chicki Wah Wah many times and always enjoy our time there. We also often listen to his tribute CD to Toussaint.

Allen Toussaint was an inspiration as a person and as a musician. We have seen him live many times and he gave so much to the audience. He would often sit in with musicians he came to see and gave them a real thrill, as welll as the audience.
