Many homes in New Orleans have tin roofs and ventilator caps such as the one shown below. This is the second in a series of paintings of New Orleans architectural details. Below is a 16" x 20" acrylic painting. I left the canvas blank behind the ventilator cap and focused in on the the details of the cap.
I now an artist with the Arts Council of New Orleans and particpate in their monthy art market. These markets occur generally on the last Saturday at Palmer Park in New Orleans, at the corner of S. Carrolton and S. Claiborne. Saturday Aoril 20 is the next market and I will have a booth and offer paintings for sale. Since I arrived back in my hometown, I have been painting a variety of themes related to the city. The April market is held on April 20 because of jazz fest the following week.
