This concludes a series of images of New Orleans neighborhoods mostly taken in February 2010 the weekend before the Super Bowl victory and two weeks for Mardi Gras. There are I certainly did not have time to cover them all but this series will provide a glimpse of the city that I hope you will want to visit.

I have only covered a small amount of the city. There is so much more including Treme, the area highlighted in the great new HBO series by that name. Here is a useful overview map of the neighborhoods. Officially there are 13 planning districts and 72 distinct neighborhoods created in 1980 by the New Orleans City Planning Commission. I started with the French Quarter and worked my way along the Mississippi River west toward the two areas within the East Carrollton neighborhood where I lived in the 1950s. Then I continued in a clockwise manner and went north to the West End and City Park before going back east to the Lower Ninth Ward.
