Toby Ward of Prescient
Digital Media is running an Intranet 2.0
Global Survey. The more participants, the better the results. If you
participate you can get a free copy so there is a double benefit. The survey will
remain open until the end of March preliminary results will be available
in April. The final report will be available in late April or May.
Some of the early
indications are available on Toby’s Intranet Blog.
More organizations are rolling out internal blogs. Preliminary results from the
Intranet 2.0 Global Survey 2010 reveal
that nearly 60% of organizations have blogs on the intranet. This is a good
news However, Toby also indicates that more needs to be done to encourage
participation on these blogs. He offers some good suggestions. First, ask employees what they want.
Here are some useful results
from last year’s survey. There was one dominate player and a fragmented field
behind it as 47% of organizations with 2.0 tools
are using Microsoft SharePoint (MOSS 2007). Vendors (“others”) that have less
than 4% market share are present in 38% of organizations. At the same time,
Facebook is being used by employees in 20% of organizations. It will be
interesting to see how this has evolved in 2010. Take the survey to contribute to the results and find out.
