What a wonderful painting. At the risk of sounding a little, uh, crazy, I found it also metaphorically psychological. Like the three upright peppers are huddled together talking/whispering about the one that's up front on its side. Also, the edge of the table in the center takes on the look of two eyes peering out. Well, art is in the eye of the beholder, right? Anyway, very intriguing piece.

Deni - Thanks for your comment. I was thinking about the relationships between the peppers but the "eyes" in the cloth was an accident. Bill
