It was recently Thanksgiving in the US and a good time to remember meals. I recently had a great dinner at the Gypsy Apple in Shelburne Falls MA with my friend Don Lesser. Don does restaurant reviews for the Daily Hampshire Gazette. Here is his review. Don called this place, “one of the best restaurants in the Pioneer Valley.” I agree.
Here is what we had moving from left to right. We started with some wonderful duck and pork pate along with a corn and salmon chowder. I loved both. The chowder was creamy but not heavy with no flour filler. Then we had a beef filet with a red wine reduction zipped up with some blue cheese. I really liked the added zing from the cheese. It was not over-powering as you still tasted the red wine sauce. The second entry was veal chop with lemon caper sauce. Both were wonderful. For desert we shared a chocolate pot-de-crème and coffee.
The Gypsy Apple is located at 65 Bridge St., Shelburne Falls, 413-625-6345. I look forward to returning.
Think you mean Gypsy Apple...

Daniel Thanks for the mention. I live in the Boston area but my good friend Don Lesser lives in Western Mass and does restaurant reviews and food articles for the Hampshire Gazette - see see link to his review in the post. We get together often. Bill
