I recently bought an iPhone. Actually it was birthday present from my wife who wanted me to have a better cell phone as my ld one never worked right. O’Reiilly had sent me their book, Best iPhone Apps for review so I was now psyched to look it. I reviewed it with an experienced iPhone user, Thierry Hubert, who agreed with their picks while he was helping me set up my iPhone. Since there are over 50,000 iPhone apps to choose from, a little help is appreciated. Thierry really liked their picks and said he was going to get a copy of the book.
I really liked the format and the picks seem to make sense. There are quite a few useful categories and easy to follow format. I marked Air Mouse Control as a remote for presentations. Thierry said he uses it as well as Yelp for local dining recommendations. The book recommends Twitterrific for our favorite micro-messaging tool and Thierry agrees. Shazam allows your to let the phone listen to a tune and name it. Thierry says it works and George Dearing also tweeted to me that he got it to work. The there is Flight Track Pro for tracking flights. This will be useful to know when to pick up my wife at the airport.
I highly recommend the book. What iPhone apps do you use and recommend?
