I just (as someone whose main job only overlaps slightly with social media and who has very few peers engaging with it) don't have time to manage FF on top of everything else - in fact, I find I slowly oscillate from one service to another, not having time to focus on three or four demanding networks.

Michael I am the same way and I am involved with social media. I have time and patience for blogs plus one other social networking tool. Now it is Twitter and I spent little time on the others. Thanks for your comment. Bill

I find twitter, facebook, friendfeed and all the others far too similar to each other to warrant switching to another tool. The crux is the point you make that one makes a success of some feature and the others copy!

However at the end of the day I think it comes down to which of your friends use which. I only continue to use facebook because some of my friends are there and not on twitter, I don't use friendfeed as none of my friends are there. I personally really like plurk, more so than twitter. But few people I know use it so I stayed with twitter.

Jason - great point - this is why I switched to twitter it matters more than features Bill
