Thanks to Greg Lloyd of Traction Software for referring to my post on Massachusetts fried clams, Searching for the Perfect Fried Clam in a post I just discovered, Searching for the Perfect Fried Clam | Rhode Island.
Greg then nominates Evelyn's Drive Inn in Tiverton RI for the Clam of Honor. He said that not only do they have great fried clams, but they're also his top choice for Rhode Island style (clear) clam chowder and traditional Rhode Island stuffies ("Fresh local quahogs halved and filled with our spicy blend of chopped clams and chourico"). This latter option is an exciting combination.
I will have to check out Evelyn’s the next time I am in Rhode Island. They have a nice web site with a YouTube video. It seems to be open on a seasonal basis.
Thanks Bill - I'll add the Youtube clip to my post! Evelyn's opens Apr 9 for the 2009 season.
