We are still celebrating here in Boston. The Celtics are now have nine wins versus two loses in basketball championship series against Los Angeles and 17 NBA championships. I wrote at the start of the series, Beat LA! Beat LA! Beat LA! - Again and Again. Now it actually happened once again. Teamwork beat the MVP, the one man team of the Lakers. Although Kevin Garrett should have been the MVP for the team turn around he led and the way he changed the whole mentality of the team. They set lots of records, biggest comeback in a finals game, largest margin of victory in the final game of the finals, most three point shots made (Allen), largest single season turn around from 24 wins to 66 wins. But what was best to see was the joy on the faces of the team after the final game. They won on defense and hard work and now they get their reward. I also like that they are not a team to gloat, they approach the game with respect and humility thanks to Kevin Garrett’s example. It was simply pure joy on their faces.
I am now watching a replay of the celebration and these guys are so happy and the team spirit was so strong.
