In the some of the comparisons between web 1.0 and web 2.0 Consumer Reports is classified as Web 1.0 and epinoins is classified as web 2.0. There is a report decline in Consumer Reports online and a corresponding rise in epinions. Well, now Consumer Reports has turned to blogs as I heard from Typepad. These must be Typepad blogs. I wonder of they we will take the next step and provide for more user engagement with their web site.
Each Consumer Reports blog specializes in a specific area and features the same data, reports, and recommendations that Consumer Reports normally offers. Here are just a few of their many blogs.
Babies & Kids
Cars
Electronics
However, these are still blogs written by Consumer Reports as opposed to the epinons as a rating site with more direct participation. So they have only gone part way. I wonder if this will really enable them to gain any of the their lost web traffic (if the reports I saw ere correct about the traffic loss)? It was interesting that the links in the Typepad message go directly to the blogs but if you jump to a new tab you have to register.
I've being researching about consumer electronics. I found your post very helpful for those who are looking for consumer electronics. I thought I would leave my first comment. I don't know what to say except that I have enjoyed reading.
