Nick Hernandez has started the Facebook group, Media Literacy, to promote discussion on this topic. It also lists the Alliance for a Media Literate America (AMLA) which is the first and largest professional association for American K-16 media educators, health professionals and media activists. I think this is a worthwhile cause and I am pleased to join the discussion. I did my academic research on the effects of media on cognition so it has been a topic of long interest. The group is open to anyone who is interested. It just started so I was the third but I see the number is growing.
The Wilkipedia defines Media literacy as “the process of accessing, analyzing, evaluating and creating messages in a wide variety of forms.” web+2.0
