Desktops of the Future (as seen in 2002)

I was looking at a blog that linked to an article by some former Accenture colleagues, “Knowledge management strategies that create value.” Written in 1999 I often referred to it in talks at the time. Thanks to Peter-Anthony Glick and his blog, Leveraging Organization Knowledge, for bringing it to my attention. It looks like a good KM blog. You can find a review of the article on Peter-Anthony’s blog.

I also looked at the Accenture site and saw they still have the article, Desktops of the Future, that I wrote in 2002 with Peter Cheese. It discussed the promise of portals. Some of the concepts are still relevant but you can do them much better with Enterprise 2.0 tools. enterprise 2.0
