A recent article in CNN’s Business 2.0 Magazine by David Kushner, Video blogs, ready for prime time. Talked about the rise of vblogging. He wrote that as of March there were more than 6,500 vlogs listed in the video blog directory, Mefeedia.com, compared with fewer than 300 a year earlier. Rocketboom, a satirical news show and the most popular vlog has 250,000 visitors a day, and viewers are growing. This all makes sense with the rise of less expensive bandwidth and the explosion of self-generated content.
David said that advertisers are getting more comfortable with video blogs and wrote, “video ads brought in $225 million in 2005 and are expected to break the $1 billion mark in 2008, according to eMarketer, a New York research firm.” He conclues that mre video prodcuers will be getting into this for the profit potential, as well as to have fun. Here are some good video blogs I have found besides Rocketboom.
