Another podcast in our Learning 2.0 series is now up. In this one, Blogs and Teams, I discuss how a medical management group used a blog to coordinate their work. The case illustrates how blogs can increase transparency and create searchable archives for teams. In this case using blogs as a vehicle for team communication has an added benefit, it creates an easily accessible record of your activities as a by-product of the team work activities, with little, or even no, extra work by the team members.
In the past, one of the biggest obstacles to knowledge management has been the time required to record and submit information into a knowledge management system. Busy people rarely have time to do this. Even at the end of major project, often the last thing you want to do is to record and reformat what happen so others could benefit in the future as they face similar projects or challenges.
Simply using a blog-based team work space solves this knowledge management problem. You work is now accessible to yourself for future use and anyone else that you want to provide access. The blogs and teams podcast is available for free download at the Learning 2.0 site.
