I was going through very old RSS entries and found the Blog of Henry David Thoreau thanks to Anne Stanton who linked to it. I wonder what some other 19th century blogs would look like?
In this case, posts from Thoreau’s journals have been entered over several months by Gregory Perry. It even has a Henry’s Friends blog roll. A testimonial from Emerson is included. I read the journal in its old print form over thirty years ago and found it meaningful at the time.
The entry for 8-Mar-1853 has a certain Yoga Berra quality to its use of langauge.
“I know of no more pleasing employment than to ride about the country with a companion very early in the spring, looking at farms with a view to purchasing if not paying for them.”
This too is not an April Fool's joke but you will have to follow the links to see for sure.
