Bill: I picked up Madeleine Peyroux's new CD immediately after hearing a cut on the Santa Fe progressive station my wife listens to. It's a keeper - she has a haunting voice. Yes, the first impulse is to make the Billie Holiday connection but there's a lot of originality in her phrasings too.

The Dr. John disc is spotty but fun. I think Mac has seen his best work come and go (the two Bluesiana Triangle discs he collaborated on are among my all-time favorites).

I love when you post this stuff!

Yep. Madeleine Peyroux is an instant classic. The whole catalog is on iTunes. Many favorites which brought me back to years living in France & Switzerland.

The Festival Season is takin' shape.

Among favorites never missed is the Chicago Blues Fest in Grant Park.

Event Dates: June 9-12, 2005 Attendance:
680,000, Free. Largest blues fest on earth.

This fest consistently far exceeds all expectations.

Cheers,

John
