Jack Vinson pointed me to an interesting meeting, Blogwalk. On January 22nd the sixth BlogWalk meeting will be held in the Chicago area. More information can be found at Mediapedagogy and Topicexchange. Previous meetings took place in Europe
Jack writes that BlogWalk is a salon-like get-together of 20-30 researchers and practitioners for in-depth conversations about their work, possible trends, and visions, where weblog and related forms of on-line social interaction play a role. These meetings are an initiative of Lilia Efimova, Sebastian Fiedler, and
Ton Zillstra.
I will not be able to attend but would like to go to future ones, especially if they come to the East Coast.
Hi Bill,
Thanks for the interest and your comments. Regarding BlogWalks on the East Coast. Basically we organize these session where and when we see opportunity. As Lilia, Sebastian and I are based in Europe that is our home pitch. Lilia travelled to the US this month, and we took that as an opportunity, and settled on Chicago when Jack Vinson offered to be the local host.
In the same way, feel free to express your interest and/or themes in the Blogwalk wiki at http://blogwalk.interdependent.biz/
We will continue to look for new opportunities for these meetings.
best,
Ton
