This week selections for Toronto come from Wendy Koslow who writes the blog, The Redhead Wore Crimson, and is the Program Coordinator at Harvard’s Berkman Center for Internet & Society In one of the most celebrated engagements in the blog world, she is set to marry Joey De Villa of Blogware, Joey lives in Toronto and Wendy has provided a few places there which are shown below. They all sound good. She said there will be more to follow.
Kalendar Café & Bistro is located in the Little Italy area. Toronto.com says that it has “to be one of the most charming little restaurants in Toronto in years. Lavishly simple in style, it's become the place to hangout, eat and have coffee with friends in Little Italy. Utopia Cafe & Grill is run by Ryan Elinsky and is also in the Little Itlay area. Toronto Life Guides says, “Loyal eaters flock to this wee spot to munch the best fries and onion rings on the College strip (mayos spiked with wasabi, fresh mint, roasted red pepper or dijon are for dipping). The rest of the menu is an international hodgepodge.” It is located at 586 College Street, Tel. (416) 534-7751
Smokeless Joe's is mostly a bar, huge beer list, but also nice food featuring oysters and mussels. It is run by Joe Sacco (the new Joe) who took over from th eoriginla Joe in 1991 and expanded the beer selection. The Bar Towel says, “Smokeless Joe has without question the finest and most diverse bottled beer selection in Toronto. From exclusive beers unavailable at any other bars in Ontario to the latest releases from the LCBO, Smokeless Joe is the place to go for a bottled beer of something unique.” It is located at 125 John Street in the Entertainment District. , 416-591-2221
