I received this review of a San Francisco place from Karen D'Amico, an artist who lives in London. She grew up in the Bay area and was back visiting. Her is the review in her own words.
"While out in San Francisco recently my husband and I met up with some friends for dinner and had the pleasure of discovering the small neighbourhood bistro, Cafe Kati. Located on Sutter Street in what is known as the ‘Western Addition’ Cafe Kati is a great example of California Cuisine at its best.
The food can best be described as 'fuision' - a mixture of East and West but with flair and panache. Eclectic blends of flavours, colours and textures are artfully presented - a treat for the eyes as well as the palate. The portions are well sized but not excessively so (though i could have happily had the starter alone) and their presentation is both entertaining and imaginative.
The restaurant itself provides a relaxed and easygoing atmosphere, incorporating a warm southwestern feel in its decor. Upon arriving it was obvious to us that this is a place quite popular with the locals, as evidenced by the buzzy, convivial vibe, but the really nice thing was that we immediately felt at home, as if we had been there many times.
Prices are reasonable and our service was excellent. |f you’re in San Francisco and want something delightful and out of the ordinary this place is hard to beat. Check out their website for menus and information at www.cafekati.com"
