The blog, elearnspace, is found within the elearnspace site. It is run by George Siemens, an instructor at Red River College in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. George’s goals for the site include:
“My goal is to grow this site in several stages. The first stage is simply to make a series of resources available that developers, teachers, and managers of elearning can use in completing their daily tasks. The second stage will be to foster interaction (discussion questions, chat rooms, etc.), and the third stage will be to offer individual identity and discussion - moving elearnspace to the level of a "community".”
The blog currently provides posts on learning, networks, knowledge, technology, community. It has published since August 2002. I like the choice of topics it links to and set up an RSS subscription. Sample posts include:
Developing a KM Strategy by James Robinson at Step Two Designs and Column Two, an excellent site I have posted on before. You can download a PDF of James’ article.
Decentralized Intelligence by Duncan Watts discusses the power of informal networks when they are given room to operate.
Communities by Colleen O’Hara, posted in FCW.com, is about how the US Federal government is developing on-line communities to share information. Perhaps they read the post above.
