I started this blog on February 15, 2007 with this post Ives Family Blog Overview. I first did this summary on October 4, 2007 and this is just an update. I have put up a total of 238 posts so far. I am still getting many comments and have 188 so far. As I said then, I am writing about the descendents of William Ives, one of the founders of New Haven CT. It is not like a regular blog that posts on current events and does not go back and makes changes to prior posts. Rather it is an online draft history that I hope to continue to improve. I intend to continue to modify this document on an ongoing basis and welcome all comments, additions, and corrections. This includes going back and correcting material already posted when new evidence arrives. Below is an Ives family gathering in Pinebluff North Carolina in the early 1900s. My great grandfather, Sumner Abraham Ives, is on the far right. My grand father, Sumner Albert Ives, is next two him. The two women are my great grandmothers, Alice Dunbar Ives and Eulalia Sharp.
I have now provided all the research that I have completed to date. There have been over 47,282 page views (2/11/09) since I started with an average of 65 a day, over a 100 on some recent days. I have met a number of new relatives and learned new information about the Ives family. I will continue to make periodic updates through new posts and corrections to existing material. You suggestions are welcome.
Wow. What a wonderful service you have done here for your family. This is a real work of art. Thank you for sharing.

I was wondering if you might have any information on a Lydia Ives born in 1830. I think Ohio. She marred a Horace Harold Worcester in Ohio about 1850. I've been trying to find her parents with no luck.
Thanks for any help you might have.

I just happened across your blog tonight while searching for William Ives and Hannah. What a goldmine of information! Thank you for your great research and willingness to share. I am related through William's son John Ives(b. 1644)and Hannah Merriman, John Ives (b. 1669) and Mary Gillett, John Ives (b.1694)and Hannah Royce, John Ives (b. 1729) and Mary Hall, Joseph Ives (b. 1768) and Clarissa Hall,
Titus Ives (b.1810) and Hannah Termings(?), Almon Celon Ives (b. 1856) and Carolyn Martin), and Eleanor Ettna Ives (b. 1882) and John Winchester Stone. I have some old Ives pictures, one of which is labeled "The Ives Brothers: Taken at the Ives Reunion 15 Dec. 1900, Ellenwood, Kansas." It is of Almon Celon Ives and his brothers. I would love help identifying the names of the people in the picture. I also have some old pictures of Almon Celon Ives and family in front of their house in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Please contact me if you are interested.

This is a wonderful resource. I found this site while looking for information on Samuel H. Ives born Oct 1824 in Pennsylvania. He served in the NY Infantry during the Civil War. Any helpful info would be appreciated.
