After Samuel Rich's first wife, Elizabeth Mulford, he married Bethia Arey on Jan. 11, 1726/27* in Truro. Bethia was born on April, 15, 1708 in Eastham, MA. She was baptized in Truro after the marriage on Dec. 24, 1727. See August 16 post for his ealry history anf first family. They had twelve children:
1. Ezekiel, born Nov. 24, 1728.
2. Ebenezer, born March 20, 1729. He died on Dec. 3, 1810 in Greenwich, MA. He married Ruth Paine (born April 23, 1734) on Oct. 30, 1754 in Truro. They had ten children: Ebenezer (1755-after 1809), Barnabus (1757-), Ezekiel (1761-), Marecy Paine (1763-), Samuel (1765-), Ruth (1767-), Rachel (1768-), Joab (1771-1797), Sarah (1774-), Caleb (1776-). They moved to Enfield, MA. Ruth Paine is a direct descendant of Stephen Hopkins of the Mayflower. (Austin, 1980, p. 192).
3. Lydia, born Nov. 7, 1731, died young.
4. Ruth, born April 10, 1733*, died June 20, 1814. Married Sylvanus Collins of Truro on Feb. 3, 1757. They had two children: Sarah (1757-), Ruth (1758-). Then she married Benjamin Atkins of Truro on Nov. 10, 1760. They had six children: Bethia (1763-), Hannah (1765-), Jonah (1767-), Anna (1768-), Sarah (1771-), Elizabeth.
5. Priscilla, born Aug. 10, 1734*, died on June 1, 1807 in Wellfleet. She married Obadiah Rich on Oct. 31, 1754. She then married Benjamin Lewis of Wellfleet on July 1765. They had five children: Priscilla, Lucy, Benjamin, Achsah, Abraham.
6. Bethia, born on Dec.7, 1735*. She married Nicholas Sparks on Aug. 3, 1756. They had nine children: Nicholas (1757-), James (1760-died young), James (1763-), Bethia (1765-), Samuel 1767-died young), Elizabeth (1769-), Ruhama (1771-), Samuel (1775-), Priscilla (1777-).
7. Aqullia, born May 15, 1738*, died March 15, 1767*. He married Ruth Avery on Nov. 23, 1761. They had two children: Aquila (1762-1782), Bethia (1765-).
8. Lydia, born June 1, 1741*.
9. Samuel, born march 30, 1743*.
10. Rachel, 1744/45*. First married Jonah Stevens of Truro on Oct. 17, 1765. Then married Gamaliel Collins on March 8, 1768. He was a whaling captain who sailed to the Falkland Islands. They had nine children, the first three at Truroand the last six at Harwich: Jonah Stevens (1769-), Rachel (1770-), Jerusha (1772-died young), Gamaliel (1776-), Ebenezar (1777-), Jerusha (1778-), Priscilla (1780-), Aqulia (1782-), James (1785-).
11. Apollos, born on Oct. 9, 1745*. He died on April 20, 1835 in Ware, MA. He married Abigail Collins on Nov. 12, 1770 The moved to Ware where he was a cordwainer. They had eight children: Andrew (twin) (1771-1869), Apollos (twin) (1771-), Elkenah (1772-1848), Margery (1776-), Jerusha (1778-), Abigail (178-1845), Apphia (1782-1863), Hannah.
12. John, born on Sept. 20, 1749*. He died in 1825 in Enfield, MA. He married Mercy Chipman, daughter of William and Martha (Treat) Chipman on Oct. 22, 1772 in Wellfleet. He settled near his brothers Apollos and Ebenezer in Enfield. John and Mercy had seven children: Martha (1776-), Bethia (1778-), John (1780-), Sabra (1782-), William (1785-1790), Samuel (1786-), William (1792-).

Linda - Thanks for your comment. An asterik besides any dates means that it came from the town records. I am not sure which Ruth you are referring to as I do not see a Paine listed. At any rate all the information that I do have is on the blog already. Good luck with this and please share anything you find.
