This genealogy blog covers the story of William Ives, co-founder of New Haven CT, and many of his descendents, as well as those who married into the family (e.g., Bassett, Dickerman, Yale, Atwater, Peck, Cooper, Day, Humiston, Bishop, Dunbar, Rich and many others). Brief histories of where they lived are also offered as well as travel tips for the area. General genealogy issues are also addressed.
This house was built by Elam Ives in 1790 (1761-1846) Elam was a prosperous farmer in Mount Carmel. He was also a manufacturer of carriage parts. See August 2 for his picture. Thanks again to Jim for this picture.
