The original wooden church buried to the ground in an electrical storm on June 8, 1925. A new brick church shown below was completed in 1929 and named the Ives Memorial Baptist Church. Dwight H. Ives presided at the first services upon completion, held on the August 18, 1929. Dwight preached again at the church on occasion and during World War Two, he acted as an assistant preacher when an Army group was camped nearby and there were additional requirements for services.
