Jeremiah Ives took his family to West Springfield, MA between 1780 and 1790, where he shows up in the 1790 US Census for Springfield, MA, and they were there through four more generations. Many Ives continued to live in the New Haven area. In the 1790 US Census for the New Haven area, the Ives family included: Hamden – 4 male heads of household, including Jonathan, New Haven – 1 male head of household, North Haven – 4 male and 2 female heads of household, Wallingford – 22 male and 1 female heads of households for a total of 33 Ives households in the area.
Before continuing with the Ives family after their move ot Massachusetts, I want to briefly cover the families that Joseph, Samuel, Jonathan and Jeremiah Ives married into while in Connecticut. By looking at the both the maternal and paternal grandparents of Ives descendents, this includes the Yale, Dickerman, Turner, Atwater, Peck, Cooper, Smith, Bassett, and Street familes of colonial CT.
