The Seven Dwarfs Motel is a classic old style motel located in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The breakfast room has a stuffed collection of most of the animals in the area. There is a nice stream behind it. 

                                  

Photos of Driving to the Top of Mount Washington NH

This summer I went to the top of Mount Washington in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. It is the site of most of the worst weather in the world and the highest recored winds at 242 miles per hour. We drove to the top but I have climbed it in the past. Fortunately we had a calm sunny day as you can see. There used to be a hotel at the top and it is now a museum.

Here you can see the evolving weather as the sun rose in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. The weather went from mixed to to socked in.

Photos of Madison Springs Hut - Appalachian Mountain Club - Summer 2008

Last summer I stayed at the Madison Springs Hut operated by the Appalachian Mountain Club. It is part of the AMC high hut series. You have to climb 3800 feet to get there but they serve wonderful food to reward your efforts. Here are some pictures of the hut at the base of Mount Madison. You can see the cookies and fresh bread being prepared for the evening meal. This hut is on the site of the first hut built by the AMC. The original was constructed in the 1888. It has been rebuilt several times. I heard a rumor that it might be rebuilt again so here is a record of the current version. It is on the shoulder of Mount Madison which you can see in one of the pictures. The sunset photo was taken for near the hut on my second night.
