I was in Belfast Maine at the end of August. At 11AM I was told by a gallery owner that the fresh vegatables are unloaded at Chase's Daily. She had done great paintings of some. So I went and it exceeded expectations. Every type of vegatables you can image was there. It wil take two posts to show all the images. Here is part two.
My maternal grandparents had a small farm, maybe a dozen acres, and at this time of year this is how it looked over there. Basket after basket of everything imaginable. Pop and Grandpa used to walk up and down the onion patch with a bucket of water and a shaker of salt; pull up an onion and rinse, season to taste and eat.

Mick My uncle had a farm in Oklahoma which was a challenge then. He then got an ideal job for him running the experimental farms at Oklahoma State. We would walk the fields and eat the fruit right there on the spot.
