Here is another in my series on New Orleans images 2011. This post covers some of the animals whose neighborhood is the Audubon Zoo. It is located where Magazine Streetgoes through Audubon Park at 6500 Magazine Street. I played my first golf at the course in Audubon Park and we went to the zoo a lot when I was a kid. The zoo is part of Audubon Park and the Audubon neighborhood that is near the Tulane and Loyola Universities which I featured in yesterday’s post. The zoo has a number of local animals and features stuff from the Cajun swamps where I went fishing with my father went we lived in New Orleans in the 50s. Here is a post that covered pre-Katrina images of the zoo.
It looks mighty hot down there, Bill ... at least the turtles seem to know how to deal with it.
