This 18" x 24" acrylic painting depicts the hiker's bunkhouse at the Appalachian Mountain Club's Highland Center in Crawford Notch New Hampshire. I simplified the scene to contrast the geometric structure of the building and the flowing nature of the mountains. I also focused on the relationships of tone and color in the different objects with the strong atmospheric perspective present due to haze and sun shine. This was painted outdoors viewing the scene.
This is terrific, Bill! Shades of Edward Hopper.

Mick Thanks. I did not intend it to be like Hooper but it ended up that way. I was aiming for simplicity. and the contrast the house and the mountains. Bill
