These pictures were taken May 2007. Mendocino was built by New Englanders in the 19th century and has the feel of a new England village set on the California coast - which it is. It was a counter culture scene in the 1970s. There are flowers everywhere and those will be seen in the next two posts.
I love the path leading into the fog-filled valley. I can easily imagine this at dusk when the foreground and background become mere shapes, veiled in darkness. Then, Sherlock Holmes and the good Doctor trundling along that path by lamplight into the foggy moor!
I like the water tower too and might want to use it for one of my pieces somewhere down the road (oops, along the path!) ... permission?

Mick - Thanks for your comments. You certainly have permission. Let me see what you do with it. I agree with you about the fog. In fact I see I put it in twice by mistake. oh well. The town is an endless photo opportunity.
