Taken March 2005 prior to Katrina. The first two on the left were taken at the lake front and the places no longer exist. The second from the left is the front of Brunning's where we used to go for seafood in the 50s. It was closed by a prior hurricane and now the shell is completely gone. The flowers were at the botanical garden in City Park which I think was mostly spared. The art museum there is reopenned and has some wonderful exhibits I have attended. Some are made possible through an affiliation with the French government. The bottles are in the French quarter as are the remaining pictures. Here are my New Orleans 2005 restaurant picks from that trip.
Again, enjoyed the primary colors on the deck photo. I also really like the shot of the statue through the window and all of the reflections, nice! I think the N'awlin's seafood shack is my favorite because of the broken letters on the roof. It offers visions of one of those crazy, pop fonts you can download from a type designer's site. :)

Thanks - This is my home town so it is a special place for me. I spent many evenings eating shrimp of the porch of that sea food place. It was on plies on the lake which made for great views and a shoprt life span. It even had slot machines when I was a kid, I was told that they would someitmes get thrown in the lake if the place got raided without the usual advance notice.
