This blog offers some of my art and photography. Most items are for sale. It also provides occasional reviews of art events, comments on art and photography on the web, and other related stuff I find to share.
Photos of Eastern Townships of Quebec Winter 2007, South of Sherbrooke
Taken February 2007 near Sherbrooke. These are contrasting views of the same scene about 20 minutes apart as a sudden snow storm came up.

In each of the comparative shots, it was interesting for me to discover that I was always drawn to the images where the snow had begun to fall. In each case the image and the contrast was softer and more appealing to my artistic sense. The sunlit images were sharp, crisp and terrific for, shall we say, an architectural record or documentation of the landscape. Both sets are valuable in their own way and, as said, I was somewhat surprised at at how quickly I was seduced by the more impressionist views.
Mick - Glad you liked these. I was struck by the change after we came out of the store and had to re-shot the pictures I had taken. The snow ones are more aligned with some of the images I have seen on your blog so I am not surprised your prefer them. I think I do also. However, I also like the high contrast that sun on snow makes. Bill
