Here is a 16" x 20" acrylic painting of a pot of gumbo served at the Mayor's Gala in Opelousas, LA. Opelousas describes itself as a town perfectly seasoned and so was the gumbo. It was a great evening with Keith Frank's Zydeco band. Photos of the event and the rest of our trip out west for Zydeco and cajun dancing will follow. The gumbo was delicious. There will be more paitnings on Lousiana food, music, places, and events in the coming weeks.
I have been accepted into the New Orleans Art Council's art mart as a vendor and plan to be showing this and all the New Orleans paintings I am working on there, along with others. They are held the last Saturday of every month with food vendors and live music. I plan to have a booth starting with the February art mart
