Onset Bay Blues Festival 2008
I have gone to the last two Onset Bay Blues Festivals and greatly enjoyed them. Here is my review of Onset Bay Blues Festival 2006 and Onset Blues Festival 2007. The festival returns this year on Saturday August 2, 2008 for its 16th annual presentation of authentic American Blues music. The festival will feature five bands during the day beginning at 11:30 in the morning and continuing until 6:00 p.m.
The Lineup includes The Racky Thomas Band, Shirley Lewis with Chris Stovall Brown, Lynwood Slim with Matthew Stubbs and The Bluegils. Headlining this year’s event is the legendary, and Grammy nominated, ROOMFUL OF BLUES, who are touring in support of their latest CD “Rasin A Ruckus” on Alligator Records.
Bill Narkiewicz, host of WMVY, Blues at 8, will be hosting the Onset Blues Festival for the third year in a row, together with Wareham’s own Gil Correia. The festival will again be held at Prospect Park, in the Band shell, in the center of historic Onset Village, overlooking the harbor. Free parking is available nearby. Craft and food vendors will enliven the festival beginning at 9:00 a.m. Advertisers and Vendors are being sought.
For information and directions contact the Onset Bay Association website. Here is where to eat when you go, Onset, MA – An Occasional Visitor’s Favorites.

Nestled in Onset Village, just a short walk from Onset Center, our marina is easily accessible from land or sea. Stonebridge offers an onsite restaurant and lounge for a fine dining option. For a more relaxed atmosphere, use our gas grills for a fun-filled day at a beach.
