Aggregating Web 2.0 Reading Lists

I was asked about reading on web 2.0 so I did some research on the web and came up with a few suggestions. Here are some of the page one Google results

The Quintessential Web 2.0 Reading List

Web 2.0 Reading List – VC Mike’s Blog

Tame the Web – Web 2.0 reading list

Web 2.0 List of Lists – actually the better list is found on the right side bar in his book suggestions

There is my prior post on Enterprise 2.0 Reading List.

I was not interested in the purely technical stuff, although a lot is out there (do a web 2.0 search on Amazon and that is what rises to the top – it is so literal). I think that I would go with (at the book level):

Wikinomics by Don Tapscott
The Long Tail: Why the Future of Business is Selling Less of More by Chris Anderson
The World Is Flat [Updated and Expanded Version]: A Brief History of the Twenty-first Century by Thomas L. Friedman
Everything Is Miscellaneous: The Power of the New Digital Disorder by David Weinberger

And the classics:
The Wisdom of Crowds by James Surowiecki
The Cluetrain Manifesto: The End of Business as Usual by Christopher Locke, Rick Levine, Doc Searls, David Weinberger

Of course with web 2.0 you do not have to go to the time and expense of buying and reading the book as many summaries are available thorugh Google searches and the Wikipedia. What are your choices?

On the book level, there are some other great reads out there. Here's a list of 12 pioneering books on crowdsourcing and open innovation:

I especially look forward to Jeff Howe's book on Crowdsourcing, which will hit shelves in May 2008.

Phillippe - Thanks for sharing this list. The Jeff Howe book does sound good. Bill
