GridLock – Arjun Thomas
GridLock is a relatively new (February 2007 start) blog to “host information on various topics related to Knowledge Management. The goal here is to create small, easily digestible, information snippets to enable greater understanding of the subject, strategies and technologies used to facilitate it.” It is off to a great start with a lot of useful information. There are posts on the non-technical and technical bits of knowledge management and even whether technology is necessary for knowledge management.
While Arjun feels that technology is not Knowledge Management, he adds that “unless you have a strong technology framework your KM initiative will not be as widespread as it should.” Then he concludes with “at the end of the day what determines the application’s success is how well its received by the end-users. Engineer the system around their requirements…” These comments are very consistent with what I have been writing about here. They seem common sense and yet they continue to need to be repeated as they continue to be overlooked, even after over 15 years of knowledge management.
Thanks to Arjun for this addition to the conversation.
