KM World 2006 – San Jose

I will be leading a session at KM World 2006 with Martin Cleaver of Helix Commerce. We are doing a half day pre-conference workshop on October, 30 covering “Wikis & Blogs: New KM Tools.” This workshop provides an introduction to blogs and wikis for business, looks at their differences, and illustrates with examples how these solutions can be used to meet internal and external communication needs for organizations. Martin will be focusing on wikis and I will be covering blogs.

The conference itself runs from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2 with some follow on workshops. All events are held at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose , CA, an excellent facility. I was there last year. It is near the San Jose Art Museum and some good restaurants. Cindy Gordon, also of Hleix Commerce with be speaking with Dave Snowden on “Innovative Enterprises: Leaders’ Visions & Stories.” As the keynote on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Dave Weinberger has the keynote the next day, The New Shape of Knowledge: Everything Is Miscellaneous.” I have heard a version of this before and it is very provocative. It is a good event that brings in a lot of the leaders in KM. The complete program is now out on their site.
