Preparing for Intranet 2.0

Kathleen Gilroy and I recently completed a report, Preparing for Intranet 2.0: how to integrate new communication technology into your intranet, that appeared in the Melcrum (KM Review) report, Transforming Your Intranet. You can get a copy of our report through the title link above and learn how to order the full Melcrum report through their link. In this report we look at the opportunities for using a number of the web 2,0 tools inside the enterprise. We included blogs, wikis, mashups, tagging, RSS, and new learning platforms.

As we said in our opening, “The internet is evolving from a channel for content distribution to a platform for collaboration, sharing, and innovation – web 2.0. And where the internet goes, your intranet will surely follow.” We found it very useful to pull this material together. We hope you also find it useful and look forward to your comments.

The complete report also has much useful information including a very informative article by Euan Semple on Using Social Computing Tools on the Intranet. I wil write more about these works soon.
