This blog offers some of my art and photography. Most items are for sale. It also provides occasional reviews of art events, comments on art and photography on the web, and other related stuff I find to share.
Last summer I stayed at the Madison Springs Hut operated by the Appalachian Mountain Club. It is part of the AMC high hut series. You have to climb 3800 feet to get there but they serve wonderful food to reward your efforts. Here are some pictures of the hut at the base of Mount Madison. You can see the cookies and fresh bread being prepared for the evening meal. This hut is on the site of the first hut built by the AMC. The original was constructed in the 1888. It has been rebuilt several times. I heard a rumor that it might be rebuilt again so here is a record of the current version. It is on the shoulder of Mount Madison which you can see in one of the pictures. The sunset photo was taken for near the hut on my second night. You can see the multi-phased sunset on the first night in my post, White Mountain NH Sunset in Five Parts. If you click on the pictures, they enlarge.
