Here is another in my series on New Orleans images 2011. This post does not cover a neighborhood, but a means to get there, the Algiers ferry. The next one will show what you find on the other end of the ferry, Algiers. You get a classic view of the city and it is free for pedestrians. Ferries depart daily from the West Bank on the hour and half hour, beginning at 6 a.m. Departures from the East Bank are on the quarter hour and three quarters hour, the last leaving at 12:15 a.m. The Ferry has been in regular service since 1827.

No matter which photograph I look at, I can feel the breeze ... even so, it's still too hot down there for me!

Great and nice pictures! Ferries are a great way to travel from one island to another or from mainland to an island. Ferries that ply across the English Channel are also in service for quite a long time and popular among the UK travellers visiting France and other European countries.
